I mean turn on the oven and cook up this delicious BBQ chicken recipe.

I know, it's not the traditional way to barbecue your favorite fowl, but when the weather isn't cooperating or you just short on time, this barbecue chicken will become an instant favorite. Now just because this is a oven baked BBQ chicken recipe, doesn't mean we just throw some bottle barbecue sauce on and call it good. This is a delicious BBQ chicken recipe with a sweet and tangy marinade sauce that can be whipped up fast.

BBQ Chicken in the Oven

This BBQ chicken recipe starts of with a sweet and tangy sauce that used as marinade, but in the end it's lip-smacking good. Make sure you have plenty of napkins.

Prep time: 10 minutes / Marinade time: 2 hours / Cooking time: 1 1/4 hours / Serves: 4

What You Need:

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1-2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons bronw sugar
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili poweder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 chicken cut-up (or 3 pounds of your favorite chicken parts)

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Combine all the ingredients except the chicken in a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Wash and pat the chicken dry with a paper two. Put chicken in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Pour marinade over chicken pieces, making sure all chicken pieces are covered.
  3. Cover and marinade chicken at least 2 hours (or leave in the refrigerator overnight).
  4. Place chicken in preheated oven set to 350-degrees. Bake uncovered and baste every 15 minutes. Chicken should be done in 1 1/4 hours.
