Tips for Using Kids Bathroom Accessories
67If you’re looking for an easy – and cheap – way to decorate a the kiddos bathroom, it doesn’t get any easier than with kids bathroom accessories.
Accessories are a great way to come up with a bathroom theme especially when you don’t know where to start. It’s like priming the pump, giving you an idea that you can take as far as you want.
Where do you start? With your kids, of course. Take a look around their room and see what favorite thing or character already dominates their room. If your toddler is adores Hello Kitty, then that’s a place to start. Or if you six-year-old is already into car (or Cars, the Movie), you got a place to start, too.
But remember, when it comes to decorating, a little of a good thing goes a long way. It’s easy to go “overboard” on any type of theme. To help you “prim” your own decorating pump, here are some ideas on how to use kids bathroom accessories.
Choosing the Right Kids Bathroom Accessories
Let’s face it, kids change to fast. One day they’re a toddler and the next, so it seems, they’re asking to borrower the cars keys. The taste in décor change fast, too, from season-to-season or TV show-to-TV show. It’s probably wise not to invest too much of the decorating budget on the kids bathroom. But that doesn’t mean you don’t decorate.
That’s why kids bathroom accessories make so much sense to me. Toothbrush holders, soap dispensers shower curtains and even towels take just a tiny bite out of the budget. And when the kiddo want to make a change, well, it won’t hurt as much.
But where to you start. As I said above, you should start with your kids likes and dislikes. Within reason. While you want to personalize the bath for you child, there’s only so much you might be able to take of say, SpongeBob SquarePants. One idea to consider is to stay away from specific and keep to basic themes. In other words, instead of tons of SpongeBob and friends, how an under the sea theme and mix in a little of the yellow sponge.
Dots, Strips and Colorful Kids Bathroom Accessories
Another idea is to use shapes and designs, such as dots or strips. And, of course, color. That can go a long way to change and brighten and change the bathroom. While primary colors may be the first thing you think about for a kids bath, you're not limited to those. You can go as extreme as black (especially if its with chalkboard paint and you give the give kids a box of colored chalk) to a sophisticated as a gray and white.
Don't think that just simple shapes are you only choices either. Classic shapes and silhouettes work well in a bathroom, too. Just look at a few of the kids bathroom ideas below for ideas.

One of my favorite kids bathroom accessories is stick-on wall decor. These pre-pasted wallpaper cutouts come in a variety of styles for every room of house. They come in small decals, borders or even large murals. The go on easy and come off just as easily without a mess.
The two largest companies that produce stick-on wall decor are Wallies and RoomMates. Take a look at the video below to see just how easy these fun accessories can be and then pop on down to the Amazon capsule below to see just some of the style that would work in a kids bathroom.
